Class Description

Workshop will cover Ferro-cement thin shell tank. Ferro-cement is a 1" thick shell that is flexible and therefore crack proof. It’s a great do-it-yourself medium. We will be waterproofing and decorating an existing 400 gallon tank and building a new, 1000 gallon tank.

Why collect water?

  • It doesn't cost anything and is free of the chemicals used in city water supplies.

  • Have water in times of low rainfall/drought.

  • Rain is living water, and plants respond better than when you use city water.

Locating the tank - where to place to meet your needs

Shaping and tying the still matrix.

Plastering with 9 sack fiber mud.
Attaching spigot

Waterproofing with Thoroseal
