In this weekend camp experience, participants will be tuning into the energy of the natural world, to become aware of how energy effects us every day of our life.

  • Learn how important it is to use our personal and the Earth’s energy wisely. Discuss how to conserve energy, plus touching upon renewable energy in wind and solar power.

  • Efficient ways for animals to travel, touching upon tracking gates and migration patterns.

  • Study the night sky, looking at constellations and the moon.

  • Biking as most efficient means of travel for people. Maintenance and safety.

  • During food preparations, we talk about how our food choices effect our energy level.

  • With fun activities we do touch upon many educational aspects of science, math, the outdoors, and environmental stewardship.

  • We conclude the weekend by doing a Community Service Energy project here at Camp Tonkawa.

  • If troops provide a life guard we can provide canoe time.

Dinner Saturday night dinner will be provided and used as teaching time to cook healthy foods.
