FAMILY SURVIVAL CAMP

Time Length: Camp officially begins at the opening Campfire Friday night at 7pm. You are welcome to arrive as early as 4pm to set up camp. Camp ends Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm.
Class Description
Survival Skills are life skills, so why not learn them as a family and have fun doing it together? The younger children are introduced to this the easier and more natural it all becomes. During this camp, we will teach you and your family important and basic survival skills.
Meals: The camp covers breakfasts both Saturday and Sunday, as well as dinner Saturday night. Vegetarian Fare Available, and like at all of our camps, just contact us to set it up.
Topics include:
Finding natural shelters.
Building a debris hut.
Making cordage.
Gathering water.
Water purification.
Building a safe fire.
Starting a fire with alternate methods. Adults will construct a Bow Drill Kit.
Signaling for help.
Survival Packs - what to have with you.
What to bring:
A knife is MANDATORY if you are an adult and want to make a bow drill. A sharp fixed blade (non-folding) knife is best. You can purchase a Swiss Mora knife from us if needed. Please contact us when you register if you need to buy a knife.
Bring your own lunches.
Eating utensils, plate, bowl, and a cup (please do not bring any disposables)

Sleeping bag, pad (pad is optional)
