FAMILY SURVIVAL CAMP

Cost: $85 Adults  /   Children 15 - 13 years $70  /  12 - 6 years $60
Length of Time: Camp officially begins at the opening Campfire Friday night at 7pm.  You are welcome to arrive as early as 4pm to set up camp. Camp ends Sunday Afternoon at 2:30 pm.

Class Description

Meals: The camp covers Breakfasts both Saturday and Sunday mornings plus Dinner Saturday night.  Vegetarian Fare Available, like at all of our camps, just let us know.

Survival Skills are Life Skills, why not learn them as a family and have fun doing it together.  The younger you introduce this to your children the easier and more natural it all becomes.

Topics include:
  • finding natural shelters
  • building a debris hut
  • making cordage
  • gathering water
  • water purification
  • building a safe fire
  • starting a fire with alternate methods.  Adults will construction a Bow Drill Kit.
  • signaling for help
  • Survival Packs - what to have with you
What to bring:
  • A knife is MANDATORY, if you are and Adult and want to make a bow drill, fire by friction.  A sharp fixed blade (non-folding) knife is best. You can purchase a Swiss Mora knife from us if needed. (See photo on this page.) Please let us know if you need to buy a knife when you register.
  • Bring your own lunches.
  • Eating utensils, plate, bowl, cup (please do not bring any disposables)
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Tent
  • Sleeping bag, pad

  • The Boy Scouts of America Wilderness Survival Merit Badge - optional Bow Drill.
