Class Description

Each person will have a horse to work with during the 2.5 hours of class time. You will learn creative things to do both on and off your horse, working on the ground with the horse and riding on the horse. These activities develop a communication that will lead to better riding success.  Some review of Horsemanship Basic Class will be included when necessary.  We will provide notebooks for keeping a record of progress.

TOPICS TO BE COVERED:

  • Horse Anatomy

  • Horse Psychology

  • Review of basic Horsemanship and safety

  • Ground Work

  • Bonding Games

  • Obstacles

  • Riding Patterns

You are welcome to join one of our Horse Clubs that meet once a month.  Check with us for dates and spaces available.

Don't forget we offer horseback riding lessons to brush up on your skills and have one-on-one attention.

Feel free to bring your lunch or snack for after class.  Bring plenty of drinking water. Camel packs are great if you have one.

For maximum comfort, we recommend bringing your own helmet.  If you don't have one we have some available to borrow.

Class space is limited so register early.  Additional dates can be set up if there is enough interest.  (Girl Scouts Troops, Boy Scout Troops, and American Heritage Girls welcomed, or bring your own group.)
